In the last few weeks, Bernard Tomic has been a news topic for reasons which did not have much to do with his tennis. Be it for his comments about Tennis Australia, be it for having been arrested in Miami, the Australian number one made the headlines, but not the right ones.
On Sunday, Tomic finally returned on the right side of the headlines after successfully defending his Bogotá crown with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over Adrian Mannarino in the final.
It is the first time (at his second attempt) that he was able to defend a title, a success which made him climb back to the 25th spot in the ATP World Tour rankings, only one short of his career high of number 24.
A triumph that makes the world talk about Bernard Tomic… for the right reasons.
